Week 7-
One week left and then Fall Break. A lot of progress was made on Quadratic Formulas.
Due to the shortened period on Friday, we will be completing the quiz on Quadratic Formulas on Monday.
This week before Fall Break we will be taking a slightly different direction for the week as we use this time to investigate and research careers and jobs that use a lot of math (to answer the age old question: "When will I ever need this?"
**Be sure to have your Chromebooks with you all week**

Week of 9 October 2017
Welcome back! I hope that you had an enjoyable Fall Break and are rested and ready to get back to work.
This week, we will begin a brand new unit called "Everyday Living Math". The focus of this unit is to get students introduced to a variety of math that we will use on a regular basis, especially after graduation. We will be looking at a variety of topics including wages, credit, budgets, taxes, etc., and the math that is required/involved in all of these areas.
This is an attempt to get students ready for the real world of independent living.

Continuing our focus on Real World Math- We will be spending this week learning about Credit Cards, Credit Scores & Budget Planning. Using basic math skills and what we have learned so far will help students be prepared for life after high school. Whether you are going to college or going straight to the work force, getting a head start on these areas will help students manage their money and avoid costly debts and financial burdens.
